Dear editor,
I'm writing to express my worry about the fact that groups of students are addicted to playing video games.
As is known to all, games are often incredibly exciting and dramatic, but they generally aren’t very intellectual for the reason that many video games are related to violence and the object in most of them is to kill the opponents, which does not send the right message to the children who need to be told that violence is not acceptable and need to be taught how to handle situations maturely. Besides, playing video games can take away our study time, contributing to no ideal academic performances.
However, part of my classmates are always wasting the whole day playing video games,leaving their homework undone, and what is worse, some of them even play truant. I am told that when they lack money for playing games they tend to borrow or steal money from their parents or classmates,which is not beneficial to their mental growth. Obviously,the bar-keeper of the video games never stops attracting young students to abandon themselves to playing games in order that considerable money can be earned to their advantage. To our sadness, the students addicted to playing video games get unhealthy apart from the fact that they gradually fall behind others in their acacemic performances.
Eventually I appeal to the government to take efficient measures and improve the present phenomenon.
